Alexandra Anna[1] Daddario (born March sixteen, 1986) is an American actress. She had her breakthrough portraying Annabeth Chase in the Percy Jackson picture series (2010–2013). Alexandra Anna Daddario was born in New York City on March sixteen, 1986,[3] [4] the eldest child of Christina, a lawyer, and Richard Daddario, a prosecutor and one-time head of the New York City Police Department counterterrorism unit.[5] She is of Italian, Irish, English, and Hungarian descent.[6] She has a younger brother, Matthew Daddario,[seven] [8] and a younger sister, who are both actors besides.[9] Her paternal grandfather was Emilio Q. Daddario, a Democratic member of the U.S. Firm of Representatives for Connecticut from 1959 to 1971.[10]

Daddario was raised on Manhattan's Upper East Side. She attended Brearley Schoolhouse and the Professional person Children's School.[11] Daddario said she decided to be an actress at the age of eleven.[12] "I always loved storytelling," she stated in 2019. "It was just something I genuinely wanted to practise – and I could've washed anything, really. I did take every opportunity on the planet."[13] She attended Marymount Manhattan College before dropping out to pursue acting full-time.[14] She has spent years studying the Meisner interim technique.[xv]

Acting career [edit]

2010–2015: Early on work and recognition [edit]

Daddario made her television debut at the age of xv, when she played victimized girl Laurie Lewis in the ABC daytime soap opera All My Children. Her first major role was as Annabeth Chase in the fantasy adventure film Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010).[16] She besides had a recurring part as Neal Caffrey'south dear involvement, Kate Moreau, in the U.s. In 2021 she appeared in the HBO social satire series The White Lotus [39] and the moving-picture show Die in a Gunfight.[40] For her performance in the former, she received widespread critical acclaim alongside the rest of the bandage, with The Hollywood Reporter declaring that her performance "should redefine how audiences and casting directors run into her."[41] She was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Extra in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie in 2022.[42]
